Adam's First Thanksgiving

Bright and Early in the morning Momma sat up for a photo shoot.
This is the turkey I propped up next to Jack when he had his first Thanksgiving at 3 weeks old. This time the child dwarfs the turkey!!
This is what I am thankful for among my husband, my parents, my bothers and their wives, my nieces and nephews, and my sister in laws and brother in laws.

This is Jack saying "cheese". He is photogenic, unlike his brother.

Rooting on the Cowboys.

Our Thanksgiving was peaceful. This was my first year making dinner for Kory's side of the family. Thanks to my mom, I did not burn the turkey since she cooked it for me. Next year I will be brave and bake my first bird. It was nice putting the boys to nap in their own beds and getting decent naps in before the family showed for the evening. The boys enjoyed their time with their cousins. We have much to be thankful for this year. Adam made it here, healthy and strong now, being together as a family of four, and for our entire extended family and their health.

Mama's Goof up!

So Kory and I were discussing Reese Witherspoon last night and the new movie that is coming out with her and Vince Vaughn. We remembered reading somewhere that Reese was complaining about Vince's actions on set and I said either it was fabrication or she is just really a b^tch in real life. I just couldn't understand how you couldn't get a long with someone as funny as him. Well out of the mouth of Jack Owen, came a cute sweet innocent little voice repeating the word!! All these months I have been warning Kory about his swearing and of all people Jack starts repeating is when I don't heade my own warnings!! Luckily today he doesn't remember, but the days of repeating what we say and do have finally arrived!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Jack!

Two years ago, this sweet little package entered our lives. It was one of the best days of my life. His sweet little face, the bluest of eyes, his calm demeaner. He was at home the minute he came into this world. He didn't want to be "tied" down then and to this day does not want to be held back. He is the light of my life and I thank God everyday for the best gift he could give me in this entire world.
This is the second light of my life. He had to enjoy the festivities too!

I forgot to get birthday candles so we improvised...

Then he proceeded to use them as drumsticks!

Grandma was taking to long to cut the brownies, so he dug in!

Finally they were cut and he got to enjoy the first piece.

Time for presants!! Grandma and Grandpa gave him the WWF Zebra from Build A Bear, a new pair of pajamas, and a Jack in the Box. Mommy, Daddy, and Adam gave him a Cars sweatshirt, and the Fisher Price Little People Race Track.

Mommy and Jack enjoyed playing together with his new toys!

Jack in his new pajamas enjoying the last few minutes of our party! Next week is the big party with all our family!

So two years ago, Kory's and my life changed for the better. We have enjoyed every new milestone he has encountered. We have soaked up every little stage we could. And today he is two. He is talking more and more and we are finally able to understand a good majority of what he is saying. He is keeping us busy and yeah we grumble about his behavior, but we are enjoying it to the fullest. We will never have this time with him again. I am sad to see this time pass so quickly, but am excited for what the future holds for our little boy. The world is his to achieve whatever he sets his mind to, and we will support him in whatever it is.
I love you Jack Owen!!

A day late and a dollar short...

So tonight we did our Halloween pumpkin carving. Yes, I know, it is November 1st, but last night we went out to eat with my parents. Boy was that meal yummy! Anyway, when the boys got up from their extremely long naps, we carved our pumpkin.
Here the boys look thrilled to see what Daddy was doing!
Then they realized, he is a little weird for cutting our pumpkin.

Adam is smurking because of what his brother did in the next picture!

Jack, they taste better after getting out of the oven!

I have always wanted to get a picture of my baby in a pumpkin at Halloween. I realize the pumpkin we picked out was much too small to fit Adam in, but I indulged myself and snapped this anyway!

After Daddy got the big pumpkin cleaned out, Jack got to decorate his little pumpkin he picked out.

Then Jack got to help Mommy carve the face into the big pumpkin!

And this was our finished product!

Jack posing without shoes on but hey he was only out there for a minute and it wasn't that cold out!

And last but not least, Adam showing his excitement with his very own first ever pumpkin!
