Never a Dull Moment!

So here I sit, watching my boys laugh and play. As Jack says, "I naked". Adam has been a crab for what seems like months and last night I discovered why. He cut 3 teeth all at once! Today he has been a happy go lucky little boy. That explains the numerous poops in a day and the blow outs he has had!
Last night marked a major milestone in Adam's life. He had his last bottle. It was a hard moment for me that I wanted to last forever. Of course he downed it in what seemed like seconds and slept through it, but it gave a chance to reflect on how far he really has come in a year. I had to wait 3 days before I could feed him for the first time and that was by holding a syringe up in the air and letting the formula run down into his stomach through a tube in his nose. I religiously walked to the NICU from my room for those few moments when I could actually do something for him. I wasn't even able to cradle him in my arms and comfort him. That would take a few more days. Finally I was able to put him in my arms and give him a bottle for the first time. And last night I cradled him in my arms for the last time with a bottle. Bittersweet it was for my baby is not a baby anymore.
Along with lasts come firsts. Adam has now discovered climbing! He has attempted to climb the entertainment center, and has just tipped over in the Handy Manny chair trying to climb up on the end table. I was hoping he wouldn't be a climber but he has shown that he wants to be just like Big Brother in every way.

Adam's 12 month Checkup and Jack with the Potty!

Adam went in for his 12 month check up today. Dr was concerned because he didn't gain weight the last few months like he has been the last year. He is above average for height though. Adam came in at 20lbs., and 30.25 inches. Dr wants us to give him pediasure to give him more calories. So once his formula runs out he will no longer be on bottles, and he will be getting pediasure instead. I might add in another bottle in the day, but he is doing so well on the one a day I don't want to screw that up and then have a harder time getting rid of the bottle! He has 6 months to gain weight before I have to take him in again so there is no rush!
We also took Adam into Sears on his birthday to get his 1 year pictures. Oh did we have a hard time! He didn't like the changing of the backdrops for the cake pictures so we had to cut that short, but he did very well for his outfit pictures. He was hamming it up!
I couldn't resist this one for my wall. He is just too darn cute! And does he ever look like his Daddy in it!

Showing off his standing skills. Since this picture he has discovered how much fun walking is and has taken up to 6 steps! Go Adam!

Adam posing with his Build a Bear. He may not of liked the noisey process to get his bear, but he sure loves snuggling with it in bed!

Here is the cake we took in for his pictures and yes he is crying. He was totally freaked out and kept turning around to look at the back drop. Next time there is a back drop change, Adam will be leaving the room!

Here he is looking at the back drop. You can tell how messy he got with the cake in this one!
So my baby is now a year old. A year ago he was in the NICU and I wondered if I was ever going to get him home! Now I am worried about walking! Luckily Big Brother has baby proofed everything for him already! It sure is differant cooking for Adam too! He eats everything I put in front of him. I have yet to find a food he does not care for. Unlike his brother who refuses to eat just about anything set in front of him!

Jack has been doing great at the whole potty training thing. He even poops on the potty for me at least 3 times a week! I love not having to change so many poopy diapers! He has a fun way of saying good bye to whatever was put into the potty. Here he had just pooped and he demonstrated with some coaxing! As many of you are aware, really what he is saying shouldn't be too shocking considering he hears it a lot!

Mommy is anxious for the days where we can get outdoors and let off some of this energy that Jack has. He never stops! Up, down, in, and out. He is just always going and always talking. Gee, I wonder where he got that from! Jack also had the adventure which included our log stair case the day before Adam's birthday party. I was cleaning up the dining room and could hear Jack upstairs, Kory was downstairs trying to get our shower doors up so we could once again shower in our bathroom! As you can tell from the video, some work has been done! So anyway I called for Jack to stop playing with Adam's unwrapped birthday presants and to come downstairs. Of course he decided to listen after a few minutes and all of a sudden I heard the first thud and then the other. I yelled for Kory and hurdled the gate between the living room and dining room to finally get to him resting at the bottom of the stair head first into the gate that is supposed to prevent him from climbing them in the first place! Of course my mind went immediately to Natasha Richardson. He was wimpering but no all out crying. He thankfully was alright and the marks on his back are finally clearing up. We don't think he hit his head at all on the way down because we couldn't find any marks and he didn't act any differant after.
Jack's new game is looking for Rick. We got Adam a ramp from Fischer Price for his birthday and Kory named the Fire Truck Rick. So now I hear all day long, "Rick, Rick, Rick! Where'd he go?" I am sure my brother is bursting with pride with this new game of Kory's and Jack's
